During April, 2006, 138 members and guests aboard 10 member boats, 6 charter boats, and the small cruise ship 'Seabird' engaged in a cruise of the Sea of Cortez, Gulf of California. The cruise was chaired by Jack Cahill and Lou Scott of the Southern California Station ably assisted by fellow Station members.

The cruise began on Monday, April 23 13 with registration in Loreto at the Loreto Inn Resort Hotel , followed by a cocktail hour and a continuing buffet. Those with Moorings charters had acquired their boats earlier at La Paz and cruised north to join the group.
On Monday the fleet departed for Puerto Escondido, Isla Carmen. On Tuesday the cruise continued to Loreto National Marine Park at the north end of Isla Danzante. Wednesday's destination was beautiful Agua Verde Bay. On Thursday the cruise continued to Bahia San Evaristo on the mainland Baja Peninsula. On Friday the cruise continued to Isla San Francisco and the Commodores's party was held on the beach at Isla San Francisco. On Saturday the fleet continued south to Calita Partida and Isla Espiritu Santo. On Sunday, the final day of the formal cruise, the fleet continued to La Paz and the beautiful Fiesta Inn at Marina CostaBaja where a cocktail party and final dinner was held.
